Information about the Government announcement

The Government announced on 17 August that that GCSE, AS and A level grades will now be awarded on the basis of Centre Assessment Grades (CAGs). This will be in the form of the grade your school or college estimated was the grade you would most likely have achieved in your exam - or the moderated grade, whichever is higher.

UCAS will provide us with the latest information on your grades, so you do not need to contact us with any additional material. We cannot act on any grades submitted directly from applicants or schools.

At the University of Worcester we have already decided that where there is no number cap or professional body requirement all students who have received a conditional offer will, providing they now meet the course requirement, have their offer confirmed and may take up a place this September if they so choose. In the case of courses with a strict numbers cap or professional body requirement admission will be handled on a case-by-case basis assessing all the information available to the University and in discussion with the applicant. This will only apply to a small number of courses in health and education and we anticipate offering applicants who now have the right qualifications places to start this September.  However, if you have applied for a small number of courses in education and health, such as Paramedicine, we may not be able to offer you a place immediately, because we are limited in the number of places that we can offer by external factors. If this is the case, we will contact you directly to discuss possible options.

We will continue to update this page with further information as it becomes available and will respond to individual queries as quickly as possible.

If you have questions, please get in touch with us on 01905 855 111.
