Rebecca has over 20 years teaching experience across a range of Secondary schools in the West Midlands. She has taught across a range of Humanities subjects, and her main expertise is in Religious Education, Ethics and Philosophy. Her BA (Hons) degree is in Religious Studies and Sociology and she has a Masters in Education (Religion and Values). The focus of Rebecca's dissertation was the character and ethos of a Catholic secondary school. She is interested is values and character education.
Rebecca is Subject Tutor for the PGCE Secondary RE course and the Course Leader for BA (Hons) Religion, Philosophy and Values in Education. She takes an active interest in the progress of all her students, during their training and beyond as they begin their career.

Teaching & Research
Rebecca has two main teaching roles at the University:
- Subject Tutor for the PGCE Secondary RE course, taking an active interest in the progress of all her students, during their training and beyond as they begin their career.
- Course leader for BA Religion, Philosophy and Values in Education, teaching on several modules, including being module lead for RPVE1001 Introduction to the Study of Religion and Education.
Rebecca is fascinated in showing how religion influences individuals, culture and attitudes in 21st Century UK and exploring the place of RE in school curriculums. In collaboration with a partner secondary school, Rebecca has set up an area Hub teachers for teachers to network, share good practice and received CPD. Rebecca is currently writing about the importance on pedagogical strategies and reflecting on her own pedagogical approaches to RE. She is also involved in Holocaust Education and is particularly interested in research in this area.
Rebecca is an active member of the National Association for Teachers of Religious Education (NATRE).
