I joined the former Gloucestershire Ambulance Service in 2000. Prior to joining the ambulance service I worked in radiography and had my own acupuncture practice in my home town of Cheltenham. I have always had a strong interest in different methods of healthcare and clinical education particularly since completing my degree in 2012. I am married with two children and two pugs which take up most of my spare time.
Teaching & Research
After qualifying as a Paramedic in 2004 I quickly joined the Emergency Care Practitioner programme. I have retained a firm interest in advanced paramedic practice ever since. For the last two years I've been working as a Learning and Development Officer with South West Ambulance Service and I have recently joined the Paramedic Science team at Worcester as part of the BSc programme.
I have a passion for the development of advanced paramedic skills and their delivery in the pre-hospital setting and I am really pleased to be part of a program that gives me the potential to share some of the experience I have accrued over the last 18 years in practice. The recent developments within the paramedic profession are really exciting and I look forward to being a part of the future vision for graduate paramedics from the University of Worcester.
