Judy initially trained and worked as a primary school teacher, specialising in primary science. She then worked in a primary school for two years. Following this Judy worked in a residential special school teaching Emotionally and Behaviourally Disturbed young people. She then took a key role in establishing and managing an educational unit for young women with severe eating disorders. Following this, Judy moved into mainstream education teaching psychology and health and social care.She is now subject leader for psychology and professional studies tutor on the secondary PGCE course. In addition Judy runs a support group for mature students who are juggling their studies with existing social and financial responsibilities.
