Gemma is a part-time PhD student in the School of Psychology and the Mood Disorders Research Group at the University of Worcester.
Gemma’s main research interest is in mental health, and her PhD research concerns emotional intelligence and bipolar disorder. She is conducting a quantitative study into how emotional intelligence can affect functional outcomes in those with bipolar disorder.
Gemma is a member of the Mood Disorders Research Group.
Her supervisors are Dr Sarah Davis, Dr Katherine Gordon-Smith, and Professor Lisa Jones.
Prior to commencing her PhD, Gemma worked as a secondary school teacher, before making a career change and completing her MSc in Psychology at the University of Worcester.
In addition to working towards her PhD Gemma works at a local golf club where she also likes to play golf in her free time.
