Tim is the Acting Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor (Students) and Head of the School of Psychology. In addition to leading the School of Psychology, Tim holds a responsibility for student experience at the University and is a board member of Worcester Wolves and Severn Stars. Tim works in partnership with the Student Union and colleagues in Student Services to help deliver an outstanding experience for all students at the University.
Tim has previously held a number of leadership roles in higher education and professional practice and has worked with, and influenced, national stakeholders. Tim is a previous Chair of the Division of Academics, Researchers and Teachers in Psychology (DARTP) and is a strong advocate for learning and teaching in psychology, widening participation and working with students as partners.
Teaching & Research
Although Tim is a cognitive psychologist, he has taught a wide range of modules and content including; research methods, biopsychology, cognitive neuroscience, individual differences, social psychology and environmental psychology. Tim is a strong advocate for the ‘classics’ in Psychology, including the origins of the discipline and historical concepts.
Tim is committed to teaching and learning in Psychology, and has published 8 peer-reviewed articles on learning and teaching in Psychology, presented conference papers at national and international conferences focussing on learning and teaching, and co-authored a text book. Recent outputs include:

Tim currently researches in the following areas; domestic violence, perpetrators of violence, reasoning and decision making (applied to crime), trauma, culture and individual differences. Tim has always maintained a strong research interest in human-computer interaction (HCI), mobile technologies and mobility, building on his PhD research and post-doctoral positions at the Universities of Bath and the West of England, Bristol. Tim currently co-supervises PhDs in the areas of EMDR and culture, (dynamic) intelligence and personality.
