Prior to joining the University Paul worked for many years across a wide range of settings including schools, FE and HE in both Lancashire and Oxfordshire. His previous roles have included being a BA Course Leader and a Course Leader for the 4 Year BEd at Westminster College, Oxford.

He joined the University of Worcester in 1999 and was, until 2007, the PGCE Primary Course Leader. He teaches on both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the Centre for Primary Education with specialist expertise in pedagogy and management and an interest in PSHE and Citizenship. His specialist subject area is History which he teaches on Undergraduate and Postgraduate ITT primary courses as well as PRiSS (Primary Specialist Subject Research) on the 3 Year BA Education with QTS and SSR (Subject Specialist Research) on the Primary PGCE. He also contributes to some History on the Secondary PGCE course.
