Teaching & Research
Joy specialises in areas of professional practice and research. She teaches on the Undergraduate and Post-graduate courses. Her subject specialisms are in the area of research methods. She is a school experience supervisor on the university-led and school-led routes including the School Direct programme.
Joy’s doctoral research explored how schools and universities work together on the different ITT routes. The title of her Doctoral research was: The Conceptual Understanding of a Primary Initial Teacher Training (ITT) Partnership within a School-led ITT system: Pulling together or pulling apart?
Further research interests lie within the field of Mentoring, specifically in exploring how the lead mentor’s role in ITT is a cornerstone of the ITT partnership.
