Join us Wednesday 16th August between 4pm and 5pm to find out more about our Postgraduate Certificate in Person Centred Dementia Studies course.
The Postgraduate Certificate in Person Centred Dementia Studies is an award-winning programme which is delivered fully online.
The aim of the course is to enable students to feel empowered to lead positive change within the contexts where they have influence. Care and attention is given to nurture the understanding of important dementia related theory and enable students to feel confident about their leadership potential, ability, and how they go about applying their ideas.
Content is drawn from world leading scholarship and practice, which includes the research conducted by the Association for Dementia Studies at the University of Worcester, where the course is based. Significant emphasis is also placed upon the real-world accounts of people affected by dementia, many of whom have assisted in the design and development of the course.
Students are drawn from a wide range of backgrounds. For example, nursing, occupational therapy, social work, housing, social care, advocacy, and management setting. They value the opportunity to employ the online learning environment to schedule their studies to meet the requirements of their busy lives. There is ample opportunity within the course for live online contact, where tutors and students gather for tutorials. The online nature of this course means that students can be enrolled from all over the world, offering the inclusion of multiple and diverse perspectives.
An online open event will run on Wednesday 16th August from 4pm until 5pm (UK time). To express an interest in hearing more, or to book a place to discuss the course with the Programme Lead, Dr Chris Russell, please email c.russell@worc.ac.uk.
