You will receive an email with a link to the Invitation magazines early June. The magazine will contain information on how to order your tickets and robes for the ceremony. Please ensure that you keep your contact details up to date via your SOLE page as all Graduation communication will be via email.
My particular ceremony date is inconvenient. Is it possible to swap to another ceremony within that period?
No, it is not possible to change a ceremony date within a ceremony period.
If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible. Your award will be made 'in abstentia' and we will arrange to post your certificates to you after the ceremony. It is your responsibility to ensure that we hold the correct details for you - you can update these through your SOLE page. You will not be able to attend a later ceremony.
No, we can only allow the graduand to attend the ceremony and collect the certificate on the day.
For anyone who cannot attend, arrangements can be made to receive their certificate from the fortnight following the ceremonies in November.
Those who do not attend Graduation and wish their certificate posting, will need to pay to cover the cost of postage by calling the Finance Office on 01905 855113.
Postal charges are:

European delivery £10.00
International delivery £11.00
Those not attending their ceremony who wish to collect their certificate in person, from December, will need to e-mail email@example.com a minimum of 2 working days in advance of their planned visit, to ensure that their certificate is available for collection from the Firstpoint desk of the Peirson Building, St Johns Campus. Those collecting their certificates will need to bring ID such as student card, driving licence. Those requiring someone to pick-up their certificate on their behalf must supply the name of the individual collecting the certificate in advance. This person must also supply identification when calling to collect the certificate.
Each ceremony lasts for approximately for an hour and a half but larger ceremonies could last for an hour and 45 minutes.
All those we expect to graduate will receive an email during June with a link to an online invitation magazine. This will contain information on how to order your tickets and your academic robes and also a schedule of what happens on the day.
You should order your tickets as soon as possible. Please do not wait until the Board of Examiners has confirmed your award before ordering your tickets.
The deadline for ordering tickets will be published in late May/early June 2016.

We are able to guarantee all students the opportunity to purchase two guest tickets for their ceremony, and these tickets can be booked through your SOLE page. Due to the capacity of the Cathedral it is extremely unlikely that there will be any additional guest tickets available. However, you will be asked to let us know how many guest tickets you would prefer at the time of booking.
We will not know if there are any additional tickets available until after that the deadline for booking has passed. If extra tickets do become available we will contact you by email and publish information on the website.

No, there is no need to wait for your results. Please return your ticket order form by the due date, and order robes and photography early. If your award is not confirmed you will be able to have a refund.
The price for guest tickets for the 2016 ceremonies will be published in late May/early June 2016.
For the student who is graduating there is no charge to attend their ceremony.

- A glass of sparkling wine or hot drink at the post-ceremony reception

Children may attend the Awards Ceremonies, although we would ask you to use your judgement in deciding whether it is appropriate for small children to attend what can be a long ceremony. All children should be still and quiet throughout the ceremony and those children who become restless or disruptive will be asked to leave the Cathedral.
Provided that you let us know by the ticket ordering deadline, you will not be charged.
If your circumstances change after that date, please contact the Examinations and Awards Officer directly. A £5.00 administration fee will be charged for any refunds.
There is no reserved seating for guests, except for guests who have indicated on the ticket request that they have special requirements and that request has been granted.
Seating is allocated on a first come, first served basis.
No. Seats for students are allocated in one area of the Cathedral.
Should you fail to complete your course by the end of August 2016, you will be contacted by email to confirm that you won’t be able to graduate in Autumn 2016. Once your award has been agreed, you will be invited to the next awards ceremony in the following academic year.
Students who have a debt to the University at the end of their course of study will not receive official confirmation of their result, and the certificate will be withheld until the debt is settled. Anyone with a debt of more than £500 will not be allowed to attend their ceremony.
Award certificates and transcripts are presented on the day of the award ceremony. If you are not attending your ceremony, you should confirm your address and payment details on your SOLE page in order for the certificate to be posted to you after all the ceremonies have taken place in November.
A graduand is a student who is about to graduate, or receive a degree. Once the award is presented the student is then a graduate.
On the day of your ceremony, you will need to bring:
- your ticket collection receipt / confirmation of payment for tickets (printable from the SOLE page)
- your order confirmation from Northams, in order to collect your academic robes
