Horticulture HND
This course offers an opportunity to study fascinating horticultural disciplines including landscape design, pest biology, garden history, crop mechanisation, project management and crop production.
The programme accommodates the needs of both experienced horticulturists and those new to the discipline.
You will have access to a range of first-class facilities available on both the Worcester and Pershore campuses. Facilities include: science laboratories, library facilities, computer centre incorporating CAD and a 60 hectare site at Pershore for practical experience.
Pershore College is the West Midlands Regional Centre for the Royal Horticultural Society, the national headquarters of the Alpine Garden Society and holds the National Philadelphus and Penstemon Collections for the National Council for Conservation of Plants and Gardens.
You will be introduced to the scientific, technological and managerial principles upon which modern horticulture is founded. Then you will develop your knowledge of the horticultural industry and focus your studies on one of three specialist pathways: Amenity Horticulture & Landscape Design, Horticultural Crop Production or Organic & Sustainable Horticulture.

Assessment
The programme of study has been designed to accommodate the needs of both experienced horticulturists and those new to the discipline. Assessment is student centred with clearly laid out objectives.
A variety of methods will be used consisting of coursework including assignments, laboratory reports, plant identification exercises, verbal presentations, practical projects, designs, case studies and end-tests.
