Children & Young People: Integrated Services FdA
Aimed at anyone working in children's services, this foundation degree further develops knowledge and skills within the context of inter-agency working.
The course addresses key issues such as the local and national policy context in the promotion of effective safeguarding procedures and the role of effective inter-agency communication in meeting the needs of children and young people. The course is underpinned by the ECM agenda-promoting interdisciplinary and collaborative working in order to achieve successful outcomes for all children.
This Foundation degree makes an important contribution to the extended and wider workforce agenda by supporting a variety of career pathways and providing a flexible and relevant experience for all occupational cohorts.

It is a requirement of the programme that all students undertaking the programme will have current/recent experience working with learners, minimum two years and be employed within an appropriate children’s services setting.
A Criminal Records Bureau disclosure is required for this course.
Applicants with no formal qualifications may be considered for Mature Student Entry Routes.

Assessment
A variety of assessment methods are used, both practical and theoretical. These include:
Formal (summative) assignments, which include a critical review of module learning outcomes
Informal (formative) work-based tasks
In addition, Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) can be given for those students who have evidence of appropriate academic qualifications or work-based learning.
