Our Art & Design programmes develop your ideas and approaches through studio-based teaching at The Garage studios, supported by participation in workshops that develop your use and understanding of materials and technologies.
The courses are structured as a series of practice-led investigations using the strategies, approaches and making processes of visual art, graphic design, object design, illustration, animation, sound art and architectural and spatial enquiry. Emphasis is placed on your creative, imaginative, thoughtful and sometimes playful engagement with ideas, texts and material contexts.
You will join a community of practitioners (students and lecturers) all immersed in the fast-moving, challenging and compelling preoccupations of art and design in today’s world. Throughout, you will develop a digital portfolio and there will be regular opportunities to work with visiting artists and designers and to do internships.
