Purchasing Systems - MarketPlace

The University of Worcester uses a system called MarketPlace to manage the purchase of goods and services.

There are two versions of MarketPlace – a ‘Training’ system and a ‘Live’ system.

Adding New Suppliers to MarketPlace

1. Complete the MarketPlace Supplier Registration Form and email it to purchasing@worc.ac.uk 

How to become a new user on MarketPlace


1. Complete the MarketPlace New User/Change of Access Form and ask your Line Manager to email it to purchasing@worc.ac.uk

If you are applying to become a Requisitioner user:
2. The Systems Team will email you with instructions on how to access the Blackboard training course
3. Complete the course to section ‘Your Live login’ and contact purchasing@worc.ac.uk to request your Live login
4. The Systems Team will review your training. We’ll provide feedback and resolve any issues with you. Once this is complete, we will send your Live login.
5. You will now be able to raise orders in the MarketPlace Live system. However, your responsibilities as a user include receipting and closing orders, amending Purchase Orders, invoice tasks and commitments. In order to understand these tasks, you will need to complete the training. Any support calls or emails related to incomplete training sections will be referred back initially to the training course.


If you are applying to become an Approver user:
2. The Systems Team will email you with instructions on how to access the Blackboard training course
3. Complete the course as specified in the email and contact purchasing@worc.ac.uk to request your Live login
4. The Systems Team will review your training. We’ll provide feedback and resolve any issues with you. Once this is complete, we will send your Live login. 
5. You will now be able to approve orders in the MarketPlace Live system. Any support calls or emails related to incomplete training sections will be referred back initially to the training course.


If you are applying to become a Watcher user:
2. The Systems Team will email you with instructions on how to access the Blackboard training course
3. Complete the course as specified in the email and contact purchasing@worc.ac.uk to request your Live login
4. The Systems Team will review your training. We’ll provide feedback and resolve any issues with you. Once this is complete, we will send your Live login. 
5. You will now begin to receive emails related to your watcher role in the MarketPlace Live system. Any support calls or emails related to incomplete training sections will be referred back initially to the training course.

Existing MarketPlace users


The Blackboard training course is also a guide on how to use MarketPlace. If you have any queries or questions about the system, please refer to the guide initially. 

How to access the guide

1.From the Staff Portal, click the link to Blackboard 9.1





2.Enter your Windows ID and password 





3.Click the link to ‘MarketPlace Training’





4. Use the side menu to navigate the sections and find the topic you want



 
If you cannot find the information you need, please describe the issue via email purchasing@worc.ac.uk and we will contact you as soon as possible.

The Blackboard training guide is available to all users. However, if you wish to refresh your knowledge by undertaking the exercises on the course using the MarketPlace 'Training' system, please contact purchasing@worc.ac.uk to request access.
