Will Bowen-Jones

Will has until recently been a member of the Institute’s senior management team and was an Associate Head with responsibility for Quality Enhancement and Learning and Teaching.  In 2013 he took up a two-year secondment as Head of Educational Development at the University.  Will is now Head of Strategic Educational Projects at the University but remains a member of the Institute of Sport and Exercise Science.  He has a strong teaching background, having worked as a PE teacher in the early stages of his career.  His teaching interests are in education, sociology and contemporary sporting issues.

Will has been and continues to be active in a range of external roles: In 2015 he was invited to take up the position of Honorary Member of the Academic Quality and Standards Committee, University of Gibraltar. He is a reviewer for the Worcester Journal of Learning and Teaching (WJLT). He held the position of Senior External Examiner for the Sport and Tourism Progression & Award Board at Southampton Solent University (2013-2016). He was invited to sit on a panel of experts at the Education for Sustainability (EfS) Annual Conference, ‘Turning Tides in Education for Sustainability (EfS) across Higher Education,’ University of Gloucester. (July 2nd 2014) and in 2011 he was awarded Senior Teaching Fellowship at the University of Worcester.
