Staff from the University of Worcester walked a staggering 400 miles as a part of ‘Walk to Work Week 2010’.
A total of 67 members of staff signed up for the challenge that saw them walk to, from or during work last week.
The national event, organised by Walking Works was aimed at lowering the nation’s carbon footprint and promoting a healthier lifestyle.
The challenge took place from April 26-30 with more than 10,000 people from workplaces around the UK signing up and walking a collective 71,000 miles.
Last week’s challenge will contribute to the University’s six year vision to promote environmentally sustainable ways of working and living, and to act in a sustainable and environmentally-enhancing way.
