Currently undertaking PhD entitled: A Comparative Analysis of Sport for All Policy and Provision for the Elderly in England, Australia and Canada (1978-2005). Due to complete 2011.
MBA (Open) Open University, Milton Keynes.
BA (Hons) Sport & Recreation, Staffordshire University.

Industry Qualifications

ASA Swim Teacher; YMCA (RSA) Exercise to Music Instructor; Boxercise Instructor; Speed Agility and Quickness Instructor Course (SAQ International); BAE (Level 1); Manual Handling Instructor/Assessor (S683, 2003); RLSS Honours Award; Retain current first aid and defibrillator training certification.

Teaching & Research

Professional Interests

An ongoing Seniors Project (established in 2001) running in conjunction with the University of Third Age (U3A) which involves the provision of weekly fitness classes for those aged 60+ years, men and women. The programme involves mentoring seniors to run outreach groups in the local area. With the opening of the UW McClelland Centre for Health and Wellbeing in 2011, expansion is planned to work with Worcester City Council and Age UK.

External Responsibilities

Worcester Wolves Basketball Club, 2000 – 2010 General Manager (Volunteer post).

Represent UW on British Universities College Sport (BUCS) Directors of Sport Group; Herefordshire and Worcestershire Sports Partnership Board; Worcester Award Steering Group and ISES Employability Group.

TASS and 2012 Scholarship Scheme lead for UW (satellite to Birmingham University).
