Stephanie joined the University in January 2013 having previously taught mathematics on the primary PGCE and BA Initial Teacher Education programmes at Oxford Brookes University. Throughout her career she has had the opportunity to work in a wide range of different capacities with schools, teachers, students and children. She taught in a diverse range of primary and lower schools in Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire where she had responsibility for leading subjects such as mathematics and ICT. During the implementation of the National Numeracy Strategy she joined Leicestershire LA where I went she line-managed a successful team of mathematics consultants. During this time she also trained as a Team Inspector and undertook primary school inspections. Before commencing her career in Higher Education she worked as a Primary Mathematics Senior Advisor for the National Strategy. Whilst working for the National Strategy Stephanie wrote and developed a wide range of mathematics curriculum materials including CPD programmes, guidance booklets, CDs and videos. These nationally produced materials were disseminated widely to local authorities and schools. She also had a significant role in supporting the Department for Education to develop and roll out the Mathematics Specialist Teacher programme.

 

Since joining the University of Worcester Stephanie has taken on the role of Primary School Direct co-ordinator. She is also the primary PGCE mathematics module leader and teaches mathematics to both undergraduate and postgraduate trainees.
