A prestigious sports conference, taking place at the University of Worcester next week, will draw in leading experts from across the globe.
The Future of Sport Symposium, at the University of Worcester Arena on Monday November 13th, will hear from leading industry figures and internationally acclaimed sports business academics.
As sport, entertainment and the media become inextricably linked, and the consumer becomes a major influencer through content creation in digital sports business, there is an ever-increasing market for the skills and knowledge of sports business professionals.
Dr Bill Sutton, a world-renowned sports marketing and management academic, will be attending together with colleagues and students from the University of South Florida. Dr Sutton is a global leader in his field, and is currently working on a consultancy basis with the Philadelphia 76ers NBA team.
Sports consultant Geoff Wilson from Northern Ireland, representatives from international sports agency Octagon, technology innovators IBM and Fiona Green, CMO of Winners business intelligence agency, will discuss the knowledge, skills and abilities required in educating the next generation of sports business professionals, whose job it will be to shape this new landscape.
Alan Seymour, Future of Sport Symposium Director, said: “The conference is almost here and some of the industry's key influencers will be in attendance to pass on their invaluable knowledge. I'm not only excited for the great list of speakers but also the learning that all delegates will have the chance to benefit from.”
Dr Paul Blakey, Senior lecturer in Sports Management at the University of Worcester said, “It is a great pleasure to host the 2nd annual Future of Sport Symposium at the University of Worcester, and it is a privilege to welcome our guests from the University of South Florida. This event provides a platform for the sports community to consider and debate digital education initiatives required by the world’s most exciting industry.”
