Sport and exercise science facilities

Our excellent facilities include a new 3G AstroTurf, a sand-filled hockey AstroTurf (both floodlit) and a sports centre with a six-court sports hall, dance studio, gymnasium and fully equipped fitness suite.  

The soon-to-be-opened Riverside Studios incorporate a large sports activity hall and dance studios and the new McClelland Centre for Health and Wellbeing has a suite of Technogym fitness equipment. The many practical sport facilities are also support by the innovative Motion & Performance Centre and two sport therapy clinics.  

The Worcester Arena

Our new Worcester Arena, will open to both University students and the general public in spring 2012. The Arena will have state-of-the-art facilities and give students, local children and the wider community even more opportunities to participate and succeed in sport.  

Excellent teaching facilities

As well as the specific sporting facilities, we have up-to-the-minute IT and communication technology and a choice of lecture, conference and seminar spaces. Our lecture theatres are equipped with the latest in interactive presentation equipment and offer excellent comfort, visibility and acoustics.  

Library resources

The library catalogue is fully networked, enabling you to check details at any time, to make reservations, or to renew existing loans. The Hive, Europe’s first joint public and university library is being built next to our City Campus and will open in 2012.  

Information technology

Several computing rooms are available for student use and for teaching purposes. The facilities provided are primarily personal computer-based, with some specialist workstations, reflecting the role that information technology plays in modern sport and exercise science.  

Accommodation

All first-year students are entitled to apply for a place within the University's accommodation.
