Apart from teaching Drama Roy also contributes to Film Studies, he is the artistic director of Albion Theatre Company which is based at the University. Roy began Albion Theatre in 2001 to produce what might loosely be termed, ‘political theatre’ from many countries and eras. 

Teaching & Research

His specialist teaching interests include: American Film and Theatre, Theatre Production, Musical Theatre and Post-1945 British Drama, British Cinema, Auteur and Genre Study and Cinema Adaptation.   Roy’s published work ranges from Stephen Sondheim, and Harold Pinter to Thomas Hardy on screen and Shakespeare. He is currently writing about the work of  Lindsey Anderson and David Storey for a forthcoming publication and is also writing about Anthony Minghella's work.
