Institute of Humanities & Creative Arts
Lizzie is a director, performer, and Artistic Director of Full Beam Visual Theatre, a Bristol-based theatre company which has toured devised and site- responsive productions throughout the UK for over 10 years. She trained in clown and comic acting and is a self-taught puppeteer. She has collaborated with a number of companies, including directing puppetry for "His Dark Materials" at Bath Theatre Royal and for "Black Dog Times" with public artists Heather and Ivan Morrison and has undertaken commissions from BBC and Aardman Animations. Lizzie has taught interdisciplinary performance practice in the UK and abroad. Her current research focuses on exploring architectural theories about light and darkness as a model for immersive and one-to-one performance practices. Other research interests concern contemporary devising and directing practice, site based performance, and post modern approaches to the mechanics of the stage illusion.
