Linda Tyler

Linda is a senior lecturer and is the course leader for the BA (Hons) Early Childhood (Professional Practice). She is an active researcher and is currently working towards her EdD which focuses on concepts she has designed to support a better understanding of our youngest children's use of digital technology. Linda's employment and personal histories have allowed her to build a patchwork profile of experiences which have given her a substantial knowledge of education, health and care professions. Her interest in the Early Years and child development grew after she had her own three children. When Linda's youngest child was born with a learning disability and associated Special Educational Needs (SEN) her interest in child development became a passion which was fuelled by ensuring the best outcomes for her daughter. She migrated from the health profession into education gaining qualified teacher status along the way. Linda has worked alongside carers and cared for children and young adults to try to improve outcomes for them. SEN, learning through play, children becoming literate and digital technology in the early years are Linda's teaching strengths; the latter two developed from projects carried out for Worcestershire County Council which looked at raising boys achievement in Literacy.

 

Linda is committed to continually improving the programme and ensuring content is current and that it is robust in terms of quality.
