I initially trained and worked as a primary school teacher, specialising in primary science. I then worked in a primary school for two years. Following this I worked in a residential special school teaching Emotionally and Behaviourally Disturbed young people. I then took a key role in establishing and managing an educational unit for young women with severe eating disorders. Following this, I moved into mainstream education teaching psychology and health and social care. I am now subject leader for psychology and professional studies tutor on the secondary PGCE course. In addition I run a support group for mature students who are juggling their studies with existing social and financial responsibilities.
