John Coleman
John Coleman studied at the International School of Toulouse and lived abroad before coming to university.
He came over to the UK for a week and looked around all the universities to which he had applied. He says that Worcester stood out head and shoulders above the rest because of the community feel in the Digital Arts Centre. Not only were the facilities first rate, but also the feel of the Digital Arts Centre, in the centre of the University, where lecturers had an open door policy, really made him feel like a place he wanted to go.
John says of his course, “The Creative Digital Media course is not only a wonderful opportunity for someone to learn so much about digital media in its broadest sense, but also for them to forge their own path and to develop their own areas of specialty. The combination of having so much expertise around you and ability to tap into it all whilst using industry standard equipment is a rare thing.”
John achieved a First Class Honours and, during his time at the University, was part of the Christian Union and particularly enjoyed serving tea and toast on a Wednesday night.
On graduating, he was offered a post in the Communications and Development Department of the University of Worcester, helping to run the website. This gives him the opportunities to develop his skills in many areas, ranging from print to video work, whilst making a real difference to the University.
