Modern Foreign Languages
Why study a modern foreign language?
- Foreign-language skills increase your employability both in the UK and abroad
- Studying foreign languages opens your mind to other cultures
- Foreign language skills increase your opportunities for studying abroad.
Study options
The Language Centre offers modules in a variety of modern foreign languages, which are listed in the column on the left. You can opt to take these modules during your first and second year as an undergraduate. They count for 15 credit points towards your degree and are a recognised Worcester Award activity.
In addition, students are welcome to independently improve their language skills using the Language Centre library and other resources. Our Language Adviser will be pleased to help you to select suitable materials for self-study.
Opportunities abroad
The University of Worcester has partner institutions around the world, where students can study for a semester or a year as part of their course. Studying abroad allows you to practise your new language skills in day-to-day life, with long-term benefits for your employability and personal development. All teaching at the institution of your choice will take place in English.
