Helen Holmes has worked in the graphic design industry since 1990 and has a wealth of experience in corporate identity, advertising, commercial design, design for print and – her speciality – typography. When not working at the University, Helen runs a graphic design practice based in Worcester; amongst many others, her clients include: the National Trust; the Home Office; Ofwat; international sportswear company, Scimitar; and CrownGate Shopping Centre.
Helen is Module Leader for a number of graphic design modules including: Graphic Design Theory and Practice; Graphic Design and Typography; Creative Digital Imaging; and Publication Design. In their final year of study, undergraduate students work closely with her on the planning of their degree show, building their portfolios and live briefs and projects.
Teaching & Research
She is a specialist in typographic design and design for print, with a special interest in commercial design solutions. Within this field, her research interests include investigation into the psychological effects of typography.
