Every modern healthcare professional needs to keep up to date with the latest developments in their field to ensure that they remain competent in their work as well as progressing their career to the next level. At the University of Worcester we have an enviable reputation for the breadth and depth of our healthcare continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities.

We offer a range of CPD courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level that meet the rapidly changing needs of the health workforce at national, regional and local levels. We challenge and develop students to ensure that they retain their capacity to work safely, effectively and legally within their evolving scope of practice.

We have degree and masters level modules in a wide variety of subjects, all designed to be as flexible as possible, with really helpful tutors who understand what it’s like to come back to study after a break and to juggle work, study and a family.

Undergraduate study

Our Applied Health Sciences BSc (Hons) offers modules on leadership, diabetes, tissue viability, long term conditions, health assessment and mentorship and lots of others. We can also advise you on how to top up your diploma to a degree, which is going to become even more important as more and more nurses qualify with degrees.

Postgraduate study

Our Advancing Practice MSc can give you a step up to the job you really want, giving you the confidence to really make a difference to how services are planned. You can spread it over six years if you need to, to take account of all of life’s little ups and downs. There are masters modules on subjects such as health assessment, prescribing, domestic violence and long term conditions. You can get a whole Clinical Practice Masters or you can get an NMC Teaching qualification. You can do individual modules or a range of postgraduate certificates and diplomas.
