Appointment of independent governors

The University of Worcester is seeking to appoint new independent members of its governing body to join the Board.

We are a dynamic and fast-growing University community that prides itself on its inclusivity, innovative and inspirational teaching, research and leadership throughout the organization. We are seeking applications from high achieving strategic thinkers, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, awareness of public accountability and and whose personal values align with those of the University. During this recruitment round, we are seeking in particular applications from committed candidates with significant experience in the following areas:

  • IT
  • Alumni relations and development work
  • Law

City Campus

The governing body comprises 20 members of whom 14 are independent non-executive members, who bring significant professional, business and educational experience of working at a senior level in their chosen field. As the University is a charity, members on the board are the trustees, having oversight of the educational character, reputation, mission and strategy of the University, with specific responsibilities for financial sustainability probity and the effective use of resources.

Independent members do not receive a salary, but their training, development and travel costs are reimbursed and they enjoy the benefits of participating actively in University events and directly contributing to the continued success of the University.
