Graduates are highly motivated, adaptable and enthusiastic employees. Often uninhibited by previous work experiences they bring a diversity of skills to the workplace and inject new ideas into day to day work. Beyond subject specific knowledge, studying for a degree requires commitment, the ability to manage time, work independently and meet deadlines.
The University has partnered with Graduate Advantage, a regional project-funded by European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), to recruit and retain graduates in the West Midlands.
The University of Worcester helps companies who wish to take on graduates who are looking to develop their skills through undertaking graduate level work. By offering graduates a period of work experience; the buisness often gains new ideas and enthusiasm; the help to complete a project that the organisation just doesn't have the time to do, as well as a cost-effective flexible solution to your recruitment needs.
The key features of the scheme are:
- We offer employers a FREE CV matching service.
- We have a pool of graduates waiting to be matched with your vacancy.
- Most of our internships are salaried paying a minimum of £6.75 per hour, which includes holliday pay.
- Graduates from any University can apply to your internship vacancy, but to be eligible for the scheme they must be West Midlands based.
- Internships can range from 2 days to12 months and can be either part time or full time.
- Graduate Advantage offer businesses with less than 50 employees a free payroll service for the first twelve weeks of the internship. This will cover the employers National Insurance contribution, and therefore the intern will not be on your payroll.

Am I eligible for this scheme?
This scheme is open to all private sector SME buisnesses, (250 employees or less), in the West Midlands.
