First Biennial Meeting of the Defoe Society, Tulsa, OK, 25-26 September 2009.

Dr Andreas Mueller has organised, and will be contributing a paper to, a panel on Defoe's Poetry. The panel will consist of the following papers:

  • Stephen Gregg, Bath Spa University, 'Betraying himself: effeminacy and manliness in Defoe's poetry'
  • Wolfram Schmidgen, Washington University, 'The Political History of The True-Born Englishman'
  • Andreas Mueller, University of Worcester, '"Cobbled up couplets": form and structure in Daniel Defoe's poetry'.

The Hamlet Constellation

7th International Shakespeare Festival, Romania
23 April – 4 May 2010, Craiova, Romania

The two-day seminar Worldwide Hamlet in Performance and Translation organised by Dr Nicoleta Cinpoes in collaboration with Prof. Michael Dobson (Birkbeck College, University of London), Dr. Boika Sokolova (University of Notre Dame in England) and Prof. Emil Sirbulescu (University of Craiova, Romania) will take place between 26 and 27 of April, 2010.

The Second Biennial Meeting of the Defoe Society will take place at the University of Worcester, UK, on July 15-16, 2011. Further details will be published in the summer of 2010.
