I am a counselling psychologist, registered the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), a chartered psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS), a EMDR accredited practitioner and a registered coaching psychologist. I teach on the BSc counselling psychology, clinical psychology and am the course lead for the MSc Counselling.

My qualifications include a Doctorate in psychotherapeutic and counselling psychology (PsychD) from the University of Surrey, a foundation in systemic family therapy and EMDR accreditation. In addition to my academic role, I run a private practice in Somerset where I specialise in working across the lifespan with adolescents, adults and older adults. I have a particular interest in depression, anxiety, trauma and neurodegenerative diseases.

My volunteer roles within the BPS began in 2010 include past roles as chair of the Division of Counselling Psychology (DCoP) and the BPS South West Branch. My current roles include being an active member of the BPS training committee for counselling psychology, the BPS ethics committee and I am a BPS trustee. I sit on the fitness to practice panels for the HCPC. My research interests and publications are in the areas of counselling psychology, work-life balance, supervision, personality traits, neurodegenerative diseases, and ethical and professional issues in psychology.
