Qualifications
PhD (CNAA - Kingston Polytechnic, 1986)
PGCE (University of Southampton, 1983)
BSc (Hons) Biochemistry with Chemistry (London, 1975)

I joined the University in 1995 having completed my PhD and teaching qualifications.  My background is in environmental chemistry and my particular interest is in contaminated soils and pollution regulation.  I have developed a programme of field and laboratory investigations for students at the University to enhance their learning experience and employability.  I also organise and teach on the annual residential field trip for environmental and ecology students to the Provence region in the south of France.

I have recently co-authored a text book on experimental design and statistics (Oxford University Press) contributing particularly to the on-line resources and use of statistical packages for statistical analysis.
