Dan Nash

Dan has lived in Worcester all his life, and is proud to be a Worcester resident, so it was only natural that he wanted to study in the area. After visiting the University on an open day, and being shown the facilities the Digital Arts Centre had to offer, his decision was already made. In the two years he was on the course, he made friends with other students and the lecturers, and thoroughly enjoyed his time there. He gained an Upper Second class honours on graduating.
Before studying at the University of Worcester, Dan was on an HND Multimedia course at the Worcester College of Technology, in the School of Art & Design.
During his courses, Dan found time to work one or two days a week at 3dtotal.com, based in Worcester. They are one of the biggest CG community sites on the web. During this employment, he helped design content for their website as well as helping design and layout out their two digital magazines 2dartist and 3d creative.
Dan says this about his course: “The thing that made the course special to me was the freedom and great range of modules you could choose from. The support from lecturers was very good and the general friendly and fun atmosphere made it extra special. The Digital Arts Centre facilities where excellent and the equipment they had to offer was brilliant, as this allowed me to be very creative with my work. The community was top notch. Everyone was friendly towards each other students and faculty alike. Great atmosphere!”
On leaving University, Dan continued to work part time at 3dtotal.com, as well as working as a freelance web designer working with clients in the local area. In April 2011, he decided to move to a design agency in Evesham called Areca Design (www.arecadesign.co.uk), where he is currently employed as a senior web designer, creating and developing websites using bespoke marketing software in conjunction with the graphic design elements. He says the job is fun and he is constantly learning new techniques in the ways of the web.
Dan adds, “As for what the future holds and where it’ll take me, my passion in life is to design and, along as I’m in this line of work, I’ll be happy. All my creative designs past and future are on show on my website, so feel free to check it out at www.mycreativeworld.co.uk.”
