Research Student
Institute of Humanities & Creative Arts
I studied for my undergraduate degree as a mature student at the University of Worcester and gained an Honours degree in Drama and Performance. Prior to this I attended theatre school and began working as an actor. My research aims to look at the possibility autobiographical performance offers as a means to connect with and express individual issues of cultural, ethnic and ‘racial’ identity. It seeks to expand on Judith Butler’s theory of performativity. Being ‘practice as research’ it will, in part, use performance to explore the theoretical framework.
