Conferences & events
The University hosts a wide range of research focused events which demonstrate the variety and excellence of research activity at the University of Worcester.
The University continues to play host to conferences of national and international significance. In 2010/11, these include:
- Education and Social Research 12 May 2011
Abstract [Word] | Programme [PDF] | Poster [PDF] - British Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies Postgraduate and Early Career Conference 2010, 25-26 June 2010
- Transatlantic Routes of American Roots Music, September 12 2010
- Women’s History Network Conference, November 20, 2010
- The 4th Annual University of Worcester Birth Conference: Women & Midwives: Does anyone want normal birth?, 14 July 2011
- The Second Biennial Meeting of the Defoe Society, 14-16 July 2011
Our academic Institutes each run research seminar series which operate as a forum for our own researchers to share their ideas but which also bring external speakers to the University. The programme for 2010/11 can be found here.
The University also supports a programme of public lectures which enable our researchers to bring their work to a wider public. So, for example, 2010 saw the launch of the biannual St. Swithun’s Public Lecture Series.
