In addition to traditional lectures, a significant amount of teaching is conducted in informal tutorials, seminars and practical sessions, so there are many opportunities for you to interact with staff and other students.

Lectures

The majority of lectures use the latest technologies to present material and have associated eLearning units to enhance your learning and consolidate your understanding.

Activities often include discussions, presentations and group work, which help you to develop valuable transferable skills such as oral and written communication, time management and teamwork

Practicals

Depending on your degree course, you will have a number of practical modules which enable you to get hands on experience. These modules are a great way to translate theory into professional skills.

Work placements

The work placement option is very popular with many students. In a competitive job market, experience can help you stand out and give you valuable references.

As many as 70% of placement students are offered graduate jobs by their placement companies. ASET (the professional body for placement and employability)
