Alison Marsh
Senior Lecturer - Journalism

Alison Marsh is involved with a number of Broadcast and Internet Journalism modules for both the single and joint honours degrees in Journalism.
After training as a print journalist, she worked as a reporter for a large regional evening newspaper. Then followed a spell in SE Asia and Australia, where she worked as a presenter for a Queensland radio station. On her return, Alison moved to BBC WM and later gained a place on the BBC’s prestigious Regional Journalism Training Scheme. She became a familiar face for more than 12 years at BBC Midlands Today, where she took on a variety of roles; including reporter, producer and occasional presenter.
From 2006, Alison worked as a freelance producer for BBC Network News. She has since spent the past three years working full-time in HE, focussing on Broadcasting and Journalism teaching and research.
