The National Pollen and Aerobiology Research Unit at the University of Worcester hosted the AAC in August 2011.
20 students from all over Europe and the States attended the 5 day course which combined a variety of lectures and practical sessions with the aim of introducing participants to a range of cutting-edge techniques used in sampling and analysing aerobiological material including
- What are allergens?
- Allergens and human health
- The use of immunoanalysis in agriculture
- The use of Low Volume and High Volume sampling systems
- Immuno-fluorescent techniques in aerobiology
- ELISA analysis
- Lateral Flow devices
- Molecular techniques in aerobiology
- Data analysis and interpretation
