Daniel Nehring holds a BA in Sociology, an MA in Sociological Research and a PhD in Sociology from the University of Essex. He recently joined the University of Worcester, and he currently teaches several sociology modules. His main areas of teaching interest are the sociological study of gender and sexuality, cultural sociology, sociological theory, and research methods. He has also recently published an introductory sociology textbook with Routledge.

As a sociologist, Daniel is particularly interested in the consequences which neoliberal globalisation and rapid social change have for young people’s personal lives. His research has a strong international focus, and he has conducted fieldwork in Latin America and more, recently, East Asia. He is currently working on two projects. One is a monograph on the transnationalisation of therapeutic discourses of self and social relationships. The other is a study on transnational intimate relationships in urban China. More information about his work can be found on academia.edu.
