Helen Holmes

Helen Holmes lectures in graphic design and communication design. She studied at De Montfort University and Wolverhampton University.

Helen is director of her own graphic design practice in Worcester and, before entering higher education, was an art director at a Birmingham advertising agency, studio manager at a Birmingham graphic design house and then Director of Design and Publications at the University of Birmingham.

She is a specialist in typographic design and design for print, with a special interest in commercial design solutions. Within this field, her research interests include investigation into the psychological effects of typography.

In her spare time, Helen’s interests include digital imagery, Cornwall beaches, supporting the Worcester Wolves Basketball Team – and, of course, shopping!
