UNIVERSITY OF WORCESTER STUDENT WINS PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL CONTRACT
University of Worcester student Rob Taylor has been signed up for Port Vale as he finishes his degree in Sports Studies this year.
The 23-year-old impressed Vale manager Lee Sinnott during recent trails for Vale reserves, after initially catching the eye of scouts following his strong performances for Nuneaton Borough in Conference North.
It is another success story for the University of Worcester first team player, who was also selected to play for England Universities this year.
The midfielder has been rewarded with a two-year contract and he cannot wait to start at Vale Park later this year.
The Shrewsbury born former Bridgnorth Endowed schoolboy, said: ‘I took sports studies at SCAT (Shrewsbury College of Arts and Technology) and then progressed to the University of Worcester. My plan was to ensure that I had an education and degree to fall back on later in life, and I’ll now be giving it my very best to succeed at Port Vale.”
Staff and students wish Rob all the best for his future career.
