Do you live locally and would you like to improve your English generally?
The Language Centre regularly runs 8-week IELTS (International English Language Testing System) courses to help people for whom English is not their first language to improve their English generally and prepare for the IELTS exam.
General English Course
We also run regular 12 week general English classes (Cambridge exams) to help you improve your English.
Free English Test
Come and check the level of your English with us. We offer a free English test once every two weeks. Please contact h.brinkworth@worc.ac.uk or telephone 01905 855241 for information about dates.
The Language Centre runs the following part-time and full-time courses to help you get your English language skills up to the required level:
- International Foundation Diploma (IFD) courses
- Pre-sessional courses
- IELTS (International English Language Testing System) courses
- Before the start of the academic year, in August and September, the Language Centre runs a 6 or 12 week Pre-sessional course to help you get your English language skills up to the required level.
- During the academic year, the Language Centre offers a range of Undergraduate Modules to help you improve your general and academic English language skills, as well as your knowledge of British culture. In your first and your second year as an undergraduate you have the option of taking two language modules, which will each count for 15 credit points towards your degree. - The Language Centre organises a drop-in clinic for non-native speakers who need some help with their English reading, writing, speaking or listening skills.
- The Language Centre runs an International Pre-masters Diploma (IPMD) course, which is especially tailored to the needs of post-graduate students for whom English is not their first language.
- Alternatively, you can enrol on a Pre-sessional course, an intensive 6 or 12 week course that allows you to improve your English before the academic year starts.
Are you studying at the University of Worcester and need support with your English?
- The Language Centre organises drop-in support for non-native speakers who need some help with their English reading, writing, speaking or listening skills.
- All international students have access to the on-line EAP (English for Academic Purposes) toolkit, enabling them to improve their English from any computer with Internet access.
- The Language Centre runs a Masters Support Class for Masters students who need help with their English.
- The Language Centre offers a range of Undergraduate Modules to help you improve your general and academic English language skills, as well as your knowledge of British culture. Each module counts for 15 credit points towards your degree. Click here to see which modules are available.
