Where are the Halls?
Living away from home for the first time is an exciting but sometimes daunting prospect for first year students. Living independently away from home but with the support of the University Accommodation and Student Experience Teams, as well as the Students’ Union, gives them the perfect opportunity to make new friends and get involved with the social life at the University.

Private Accommodation
For independence, a house or flat share is the perfect choice. Worcester has plenty of good, reasonably priced accommodation which is close to the University. As a student off campus your son or daughter will still have access to the same facilities and the support of the Accommodation Team and Student Experience Team to help with any queries that might arise.
The University works closely with private landlords and Worcester City Council to ensure all student shared houses are accredited and offer good standards. We also offer advice on housing matters such as tenancy agreements and questions to ask landlords with regard to safety and fire precautions, so students are supported at every step of the way.
Some First Year students will be allocated accommodation in privately rented accommodation, usually sharing with other First Year students. All of the accommodation will have been inspected both by the University and by Worcester City Council and will usually be located close to the University campus. Where this is the case the tenancy contract will be negotiated between the student and the landlord directly and students will pay accommodation fees to the landlord but the University will be happy to offer advice and guidance.

What other facilities are provided?
Student Community and Welfare
Whether students choose to live on campus or off campus, as well as the friendly help and advice they will receive from the Accommodation Team, they will also be supported by our Student Experience Team.
The Student Experience team are here to support students living on and off campus to ensure that students have a positive experience whilst at university, making the most of the opportunities that are available to them and to help integrate them into university life. As part of this team, there are 4 Community Development Workers who provide support, information and advice to residents. They will facilitate activities and events to help students to get to know each other and to foster a positive, supportive community spirit on campus.
The Students’ Union
The Students’ Union is central to student life and runs a host of events, clubs and activities on campus including movie screenings, theatre and sporting activities, so there is plenty to do, even on a tight budget. The Student’s Union also has its own Welfare Officer who is there to advise students.
A Secure Environment
The University has a team of Security Officers on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Their principle role is to provide students with a safe and secure environment in which to live and study. The security and community development workers office is also based in the heart of our residential village, adjacent to the laundry in the Worcester Halls. This is normally staffed from around midday through to 6.00am seven days per week; the team can deal with any emergency or pastoral issue or just provide a place to go for a chat and a cup of tea.
Food & Drink
We offer a wide range of high quality, good value food outlets for your son or daughter. Vegetarian options are available and other dietary requirements can be catered for on request. We also have two coffee shops and the Students' Union shop provides basic items, including groceries, toiletries, stationery and magazines.
