Art in Minds Foundation

Company: Art In Minds Foundation

Location: Worcester City Centre (Bradbury Centre)

Name: Claire Hilton Telephone: 07442496046

Description: Art in Minds Foundation is a registered charity supporting adults from around Worcestershire who have suffered from or are currently experiencing mental ill health. We currently have over 160 members and since 2004 our artists have been able to develop, share and broaden their creative skills in a supported environment where attending practical arts based workshops, one to one tutorials and participating in exhibiting opportunities, art groups and social events is actively encouraged. Getting involved with the organisation through its volunteering opportunities has helped some of our members re-engage with employment and education, leading to a more fulfilled life. Our aim is to encourage creativity and social interaction, improve confidence and self-esteem whilst reducing the stigma that people with mental health issues face in everyday life.

Duration: 6 months

Duties: AIMs member support officer is a vital role within our organisation to engage with our members (past and present) and help to identify those in need of further support. Initially the role will require a good standard of communication and confident phone skills. Contacting our members via phone to ascertain any detail changes and information about their current support needs and art practice. This information will then be used to keep our members details up to date and check their address and other personal details within our system are current. The role will take place predominantly in our city centre based office for approximately 2hours per week (Thursdays are preferable) and training and supervision will be provided. It would be preferable you were also able to attend our monthly meeting (last Friday of every month) to take minutes. This will help you to be a known face to our members and port of contact for them if needed. There will also be opportunities to be involved in fundraising, events and raising awareness about what our organisation does as a whole if you wish to.   (2-4hours per week minimum)
