Nick Zabierek

Nick Zabierek graduated with a First Class Honours in Animation and Screenwriting, and his degree has already taken him a long way.

The 22 year-old has recently returned from New Zealand, where he took part in an internship at The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand. Here, Nick was involved in the editing and filming of a number of professional educational videos, and has also been able to create and share ideas for future promotional films.

With aspirations of being a screenwriter, Nick is continuing to build his portfolio with scripts and animation projects, and he says that it was his time at Worcester that allowed him to discover his true ambitions.

“I have enjoyed my time at the University of Worcester very much,” he says. “I learned a lot about animation and screenwriting and was taught some fantastic modules by some inspirational lecturers and visiting professionals.

“I also benefited from the support of my academic and student support tutors. I particularly enjoyed learning about stop-motion animation and the entire screenwriting process.

“It was while I was studying for my course that I realised that my passion was for screenwriting; in my opinion, it is the most enjoyable and fascinating experience of filmmaking.”

He continues: “I was absolutely ecstatic to earn a First Class degree. I feel very proud to have achieved this through hard work and determination.”

Sarah Evans, Course Leader in Screenwriting at the University of Worcester, says: “Nick has worked hard and grown in confidence by engaging with all of the opportunities that the Screenwriting course has been able to offer him.

“I'm delighted that he graduated with First Class Honours - it's very well deserved."
