Alumni Honorary Graduation Ceremony - 1 September 2012

The Alumni Honorary Graduation Ceremony will take place on Saturday 1 September 2012. Thank you to all those who have expressed interest in the honorary award. If you have expressed interest in receiving the honorary award, please book your tickets or arrange for your certificate to be posted via the online booking form and enter the details which have been sent to you.

Booking your tickets
The deadline for booking is 4 May 2012. This deadline also applies if you would like your certificate to be posted to you. Please be aware that once booking capacity has been reached, the booking form will close. This may be before 4 May.

Cost of the tickets
The cost of tickets is a reflection of the actual costs incurred by the University. Tickets for the Cathedral are £30 per person, including the recipient of the honorary award. This price includes transport to and from the Cathedral; a contribution towards the hire of the Cathedral; a graduation programme; and refreshments after the ceremony.

Live broadcast tickets are £15 per person. This ticket permits people to view the ceremony from lecture theatres at our St John’s Campus. The price includes a contribution towards the cost of the live broadcast from the Cathedral; a graduation programme; and refreshments after the ceremony.

The honorary award is a fitting way of recognising the contribution that students from 1946-1977 made to the former Worcester Colleges. None of this would have been possible without the strong foundations built by staff and students of the former Worcester Colleges.

Ceremonies
The ceremonies have been divided according to year of graduation, with people who completed their education at Worcester between 1969 and 1977 attending the 10.30am ceremony; and people who completed their education at Worcester between 1946 and 1968 attending the 2pm ceremony. The timings for the day are outlined in the information pack.

Please come to the University’s St John’s Campus before your graduation ceremony.

Robe hire
Honorary graduands will need to order their robes prior to the event, from Northam & Company Ltd. The University of Worcester uses Northam & Company Ltd for all its graduation ceremonies. You can place your order online (to receive online discount) at www.wmnortham.co.uk or by calling 0870 2401852 (opening hours are 9am-5pm Monday to Friday). If ordering online, please click on 'My Graduation' and enter 'University of Worcester' in the institution details. 

Robes should be ordered before 4 May 2012.
