CANADIAN ACE NAMED WORCESTER WOLVES’ NEW COACH
Worcester Wolves Basketball team have announced Skouson Harker as their new player/coach to hopefully lead them into a new era of British Basketball League success.
The Wolves, who are based at the University of Worcester and have several University students in their squad, appointed the 30-year-old Canadian, this week; following a two month solid review of prospective candidates.

Harker, who stands at 6ft 8ins, said; “This is such an exciting opportunity. I have been impressed by how far Worcester have come in such a short time in British basketball. My aim is to help them to continue to move forward and put a team in place that will be more competitive in the BBL this season.”
The new player- coach, who can play anywhere on court, flew in from Calgary this week for a quick visit to Worcester to finalise the deal.
Wolves also confirmed that following his appointment as a lecturer at the University, former coach Josh Cooprider will be available to support Harker.
Wolves’ Director of Basketball, Mick Donovan, said; “Skouson is a young, ambitious coach who has demonstrated that he is hungry to succeed and he is joining a relatively young but very ambitious club. We believe that he will make an impact as the Head Coach of the Wolves Academy. This Academy includes our British Basketball League team, our English Basketball League division 3 team, our successful university scholarship and training programmes, and thriving community initiatives."
As a player for Birmingham, Harker averaged 18 points, seven rebounds and three assists per game. Last season, he was ranked eighth in the BBL for total points (668) and 15th for total assists (105). He also hit 39 three-point shots as well as scoring 44 points in one game.
