What We Do
The Widening Participation Unit has an on-going timetable of events. These include:
- School Visit Days
- Sports Science Summer School
- Drama Summer School
- Thinksmart (Cognitive Behavourial Therapy project)
- Gifted and talented programme
- Aimhigher attendance at options evenings
- Summer programme of activities for local playschemes
- Events for the local community on campus
- Aimhigher Associates Scheme
The Widening Participation team also work to inform wider policy and strategies within the University to make sure procedures are inclusive. A recent example of this includes working on policies to ensure care-leavers applying for and attending the University are fully supported.
